Account Manager (Senior) – QuantiFERON (South UK)

Job title: (Senior) Account Manager – QuantiFERON (South UK)

Company: Qiagen

Job description:

Join QIAGEN: Pioneering the Fight Against Latent Tuberculosis

The Global Challenge of Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis (TB), a disease impacting millions worldwide, poses a significant health challenge. Despite being perceived as a problem primarily in developing nations, TB persists even in Western cities. For instance, some areas in London have reported TB rates surpassing those in countries like Iraq or Rwanda. TB, often affecting the lungs, can remain dormant for years before becoming active and infectious. Astonishingly, about a quarter of the global population, roughly two billion people, carry latent TB. Of these, 10% are likely to develop active TB during their lifetime. This reality underscores a critical public health issue: while 10 million people annually face active TB, a vast reservoir of latent TB exists, potentially transforming into infectious cases.

QIAGEN’s Commitment to Public Health

For over two decades, QIAGEN has been at the forefront of the battle against TB, collaborating with various public health authorities like the WHO and Stop TB. Our commitment to innovation and accuracy in detecting latent TB aligns with our ethos of inclusive healthcare access as a fundamental right.

The QuantiFERON Technology: A Breakthrough in TB Diagnosis

Our premier diagnostic tool, QuantiFERON, exemplifies cutting-edge pre-molecular technology. It offers highly sensitive detection of M. tuberculosis infection, even in its latent stage. This diagnostic prowess is crucial for effective TB management and control.
