This role is essential to support the accelerated statutory accounts process, focusing on managing the stats reporting cycle for a portfolio of UK entities.

Core Responsibilities: Navigating the World of Tax

Supporting the Head of UK Direct Tax: Your main responsibility will be aiding the Head of UK Direct Tax in delivering tax accounting and tax reporting outputs. This includes preparing corporate and deferred tax calculations and drafting necessary note disclosures for the company’s statutory accounts for UK entities.

Tax Documentation and Compliance: You will be responsible for preparing supporting tax documentation in Excel and compiling documents for UK tax compliance requirements. Additionally, you will handle the preparation of corporate tax computations using Alphatax.

Special Focus on Liquidation Entities: A unique aspect of your role will be clearing up entities for liquidation, where relevant. This task requires precision and attention to detail.

Qualifications: The Building Blocks for Success

Certified Tax Specialist: To qualify for this role, you must be a certified tax specialist, holding ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent qualifications. Demonstrable experience and proficiency in tax compliance and reporting systems are crucial, particularly with a strong preference for experience in Alphatax.

Expertise in UK GAAP/FRS101 Tax Accounting: Your background should include extensive experience in UK GAAP/FRS101 tax accounting. This involves the completion of tax provisions for statutory accounts, drafting tax notes, and agreement of tax accounting disclosures with auditors.
